Introduction to tabletop puppets
Audience:
Students, adults
Duration:
45, 75 ou 120 minutes
The artist and puppeteer puts 18 puppets at the disposal of the participants, grouped in teams of two or three people.
This approach favours direct contact with these so-called neutral puppets. To bring them to life and have them reflect certain emotions, participants must therefore transfer their energy and bodily intentions to them.
Of course, depending on time and needs, speech can be integrated into the short performance. During the workshop, each participant will learn the basic principles of one-person and two-person manipulation techniques.
To achieve this, participants will practise creating and performing theatrical sequences with their puppet, as well as learn to appreciate the work of others.
These exercises are particularly effective in awakening the participants’ emotional side. As such, participants learn to listen, be open to difference and develop their constructive criticism skills. The whole process becomes a positive setting to encourage the emergence of new observations and feelings.
