Storyline
Old Santiago returned to port, empty-handed and hungry 84 days ago. But on day 85, everything changes as he sets sail again, far from Cuba’s shores. He makes an encounter that will change his life forever.
This puppet adaptation of Ernest Hemingway’s most famous novel is almost wordless, and leaves plenty room for music, action and movement. And that is enough for the audience to grasp the story’s universal meaning.
Stoking the flame of wonder and emotion, the show’s visual landscape provides a setting that showcases the puppets. The audience’s heart, like a gentle wave, is captured.
It should be noted that the book’s rights holders have generously agreed to and endorsed the show’s production and presentation.
